Join Mary Hannah, certified Tai Chi instructor, for a FREE Intro to Tai Chi & Qi Gong class at Zion Lutheran Church of Pittsfield next to The Commons.
Class is 1 hour including an intro, 45 minutes of movement and a seated meditation to close. Please wear comfortable clothing you can move in. Wear sneakers for added support or if you prefer to be barefoot, please bring a yoga mat to stand on as the floor may be chilly. Chairs are available onsite for support. Movements may be done seated.
Mary Hannah will lead the group in simple to follow standing Tai Chi warm ups & Qigong movements. By connecting body and breath, these standing movement practices calm and reset the nervous system, help cultivate peace in the present moment and awaken and enliven our "chi" or life force energy.
The practices of Tai Chi & Qi Gong have many health benefits including building strength, improved balance & flexibility, supporting cardiovascular health, and improved cognitive function.
This class is open to all people and no prior experience is required.
