About

Mary Hannah

Nature is my teacher. I love studying the ways and cycles of the natural world. I feel most alive when I am outside in nature. I am a part of nature. The same elements of water, fire, earth, air and space are within me and expressed through me. I too have cycles and seasons. Like nature, my body is constantly growing, changing and rebalancing itself.

I am drawn to the practices of Tai Chi and Qi Gong because they are based on nature and designed to balance and strengthen my body through the cultivation of vital energy or β€œchi.” When I am balanced, I feel clear, vibrant, compassionate, and ready to engage with life.

I have been practicing Qi Gong for 10 years and Tai Chi for 4 years. I was first introduced to Qi Gong after an unexpected appendectomy surgery and was surprised I was able to do these gentle standing movements. Qi Gong was about the only exercise I could do and it played a significant role in my healing. I continued to learn expand my Qi Gong practice with Nina Crist of Jaguar Path and then dove into Tai Chi. I earned my Tai Chi certification in 2023.

When I teach Tai Chi and Qi Gong, I draw on my 12 years of experience as a mind-body movement instructor, teaching yoga in studios, wellness resorts, public schools and summer camps. I offer weekly Tai Chi classes outdoors in hemlock forests throughout Berkshire County.

I love to share the benefits of Tai Chi and Qi Gong with all ages and abilities.

Please contact me if you would like to join a class, host a workshop at your venue or place of work, or set up one-on-one instruction.
